Crazy Hair Day

Last Friday at daycare was crazy hair day. The boys had just gotten hair cuts the weekend before, so we didn't have much to work with, but they liked their spikey hair. Colin's hair refuses to spike all over, but his worked well with 3 peaks. Lauren wasn't quite as thrilled to participate, but I have to admit, she looked pretty cute with her crazy hair too.

Lauren was 13 months old on March 4. The day before she had a fall at daycare and got a bloody lip. Oh, and you have to appreciate the milk beard.

Lauren's new favorite toy

We were at a friends house the other day and she had her kids bikes inside. Lauren found one and figured out how to get on it and started pushing herself forward and backward on it. So, when we got home, I gave her one of the bikes we have inside and she has spent a lot of time climbing off and on and scooting around the last couple of days. However, the one I had inside was not the most stable bike, so after Lauren tumbled over with it a couple of times, I decided to get a different one out of the shed and clean it up. Lauren was very excited for a new bike. She hopped right on and began riding it. Here are a few pictures of her enjoying it.

Martha Lake Fire Station Grand Opening

We went to the Martha Lake Fire Station Grand Opening today. We got there a little before the dedication and ribbon-cutting, (and the crowds), so they invited us in and we got a personal tour from one of the firefighters from the Mountlake Terrace station. It was a lot fun to see the antique fire truck, sit in the aid car and fire engine and see where the firefighters sleep and eat. Then we attended the dedication where we heard bagpipes and saw the color guard raise the flag. Then the kids got to help hold the hose they used for the "ribbon cutting" ceremony. (Instead of cutting a ribbon, they separated the hose.) Then Jordan got to do a practice 911 call and we saw an interactive Hazard House. Then the boys got firefighter hats. What a fun time we had. It was also a nice enough day that we were able to walk to the fire station and home instead of driving.

Lauren's First Birthday

Let's Celebrate

We celebrated Lauren's first birthday today. We went to grandma and grandpa's house to open presents and have cake. Then we went out to lunch with the family including grandma, grandpa and aunt Valerie. Then it was definitely naptime.

Lauren got some doll clothes and accessories, a couple books, Little People Animal Friends set, Little People van and a new blanket. I think the blanket was her favorite.

Then Lauren got her own cake that Aunt Valerie made just for her. She started off with being very lady-like and just licking with one finger, but then she really got into it. She loved her cake and ate until she couldn't stand it anymore. It was so fun watching her enjoy herself.

Colin is a Sunbeam

Colin is a Sunbeam, a Sunbeam, a Sunbeam...

Colin did great his first Sunday as a Sunbeam at church. He is growing up so fast and such a big boy. He loves his "I am a Child of God" crown and lei. He wore them home from church, to bed and to daycare. He is a King when he wears them.
