Martha Lake Fire Station Grand Opening

We went to the Martha Lake Fire Station Grand Opening today. We got there a little before the dedication and ribbon-cutting, (and the crowds), so they invited us in and we got a personal tour from one of the firefighters from the Mountlake Terrace station. It was a lot fun to see the antique fire truck, sit in the aid car and fire engine and see where the firefighters sleep and eat. Then we attended the dedication where we heard bagpipes and saw the color guard raise the flag. Then the kids got to help hold the hose they used for the "ribbon cutting" ceremony. (Instead of cutting a ribbon, they separated the hose.) Then Jordan got to do a practice 911 call and we saw an interactive Hazard House. Then the boys got firefighter hats. What a fun time we had. It was also a nice enough day that we were able to walk to the fire station and home instead of driving.
