Petting farm and Pumpkins

To pick out our pumpkins this year we went to a local farm. We got to see lots of animals including some rabbits, pigs, ducks, horses, and brand new (hatching as we were watching) chicks. After seeing all the animals, we got to feed chickens, hens and turkeys. It was a lot of fun. Then we picked out our pumpkins in the pumpkin patch. It was a fun adventure.

Halloween

For Halloween we went to Grandma and Grandpa McKee's house for dinner and then to go trick-or-treating. Our cousins Abby and Jonny were here from Moses Lake as well. The weather was a little wet, but trick-or-treating was fun anyway.

September 2009

As we are nearing the end of September, I thought I would just post a bunch of pictures to capture our month. It has been a good month with school starting and lots of sunshine.

The Orange

Lauren was playing with an orange. Pretty soon I could smell it so I decided I better check on her. When I noticed all the little holes in the skin, I asked her if she ate it. (She had spent most of the afternoon grazing in the kitchen and putting things in her mouth that didn't belong in her mouth.) She said, "yes". I decided to look and see if I could find the missing pieces and luckily she had not eaten it all. I found the little pieces all over the living room couch.

It's a Frog

Colin has figured out a way to make a really weird sound from his throat...kind of like a burp, but kind of a croak. We were in the car this afternoon and he made this burp-like sound and quickly said, "That wasn't a burp. It was a frog. The little frog is trying to find its mom and dad." Then he continues to explain that the mom and dad are not outside, but they are in his tummy.

Boy, I sure hope he hasn't really swallowed a frog family and that the little one didn't get stuck in his throat looking for the mom and dad. ;-)

Faith of a Child

Our children can be such good examples for us. Last night after we had gone to sleep, Jordan came in and said to me, "Mom I am scared and having bad dreams. Can we say a pray so I can sleep." I had him climb up on our bed and sat up. I asked him if he wanted to pray or whether he wanted me to. He asked me to say the prayer. I said a prayer and asked Heavenly Father to help him sleep with good dreams. When we finished I gave him a hug and kiss and he jumped down from the bed and went back to his room. We didn't hear from him for the rest of the night.

Then this morning, the boys noses seemed to be a little stuffy and I was encouraging them to use a kleenex and blow their nose. Instead, Jordan asked Colin if he would pray that their noses wouldn't be stuffy. Colin said, "Thank you for our stuffy noses and not be stuffy anymore."

It is great to see that the boys have a basic understanding of prayer and the important role it can play in our lives.
